On October 9, 2022, the National Energy Administration issued the Notice on the Action Plan for Carbon Neutralization Standardization of the Energy Carbon Summit. According to the work objectives of the Plan, by 2025, a relatively complete energy standard system will be initially established, which can effectively support and lead the green and low-carbon transformation of energy, and the energy standard will be transformed from quantity and scale to quality and efficiency.
After putting forward the specific schedule of “double carbon” in 2020, the Chinese government has repeatedly issued the overall support policies and requirements for “double carbon” in the past two years. In order to achieve dual carbon, China has made changes in policies and policies.

The Action Plan for Energy Carbon Peak Carbon Neutralization Standardization issued by the National Energy Administration mainly stipulates the transformation and adjustment direction of the “dual carbon” energy system in the background, and the standardization of new energy systems in the “dual carbon” background, focusing on the construction of a standard system for renewable energy such as photovoltaic, wind power, and the standardization of non fossil energy.
It can be seen that the essence of China’s “dual carbon” is the transformation of the energy structure. Under the overall development goal of “dual carbon”, the standardization of non fossil energy systems is the basic prerequisite for achieving the transformation of the energy structure. Pingtou Brothers believed that after the standardization of non fossil energy, more relevant policies will be introduced to promote the transformation and development of China’s energy structure.

In addition, the National Energy Administration released the Action Plan for Energy Carbon Peak Carbon Neutralization Standardization, which stipulates the standardization of China’s energy structure. The environment mentioned therein includes: wind photovoltaic, waterscape comprehensive utilization, pumped energy storage, third-generation pressurized water reactor nuclear power, new energy system, new energy storage system, etc.
On the one hand, the National Energy Administration will further regulate the standardization of the energy industry, play an active role in expanding the scale of non fossil energy, and help to expand its proportion in the non fossil energy structure; On the other hand, it also shows to the market that the important direction of China’s energy structure transformation in the future will further promote the application of related chemicals in important energy transformation.
Under the development trend of non fossil energy standardization, which chemical industry will be promoted?
1. The wind power and photovoltaic industry is an important energy structure, and it is also the energy that China focuses on promoting. The Plan also clearly stipulates that standardized demonstration projects will be set up for the construction of large-scale wind power photovoltaic bases and offshore wind power bases and offshore photovoltaic projects.
The construction of large-scale wind power photovoltaic projects will further stimulate the application of chemical products in their related environments, such as photovoltaic grade EVA, POE, photovoltaic grade PMMA and other products. Driven by the development of large-scale wind power and photovoltaic projects in the future, the future consumer market shows a trend of rapid development. These products are also the main products of China’s future chemical market.
2. The construction of a new energy storage standardization system, the improvement of the energy storage standardization management system, the construction of a new and improved energy storage standard system, the issuance of the Guidelines for the Construction of a New Energy Storage Standard System, and the promotion of the revision of relevant standards in combination with the experience of industrial pilot demonstration projects.
Energy storage industry is an important industry for the development of new energy in China, which also determines the feasibility of the development of new energy industry. Energy storage refers to the process of storing energy through media or equipment and releasing it again when needed. Energy storage can be divided into mechanical energy storage, electrical energy storage, electrochemical energy storage, thermal energy storage, chemical energy storage, etc. Among them, mechanical energy storage and electrochemical energy storage are widely used. Electrical energy storage is electromagnetic energy storage, which has become the energy storage of power system.
Among them, electrochemical energy storage refers to the energy storage of various secondary batteries using chemical elements as energy storage media. The charging and discharging process is accompanied by the chemical reaction of energy storage medium, including lead acid battery, lithium battery, etc. Electrochemical energy storage is mainly hydrogen energy storage. Chemical energy storage is the most obvious energy storage mode for the type and scale of chemical product demand. The increase of energy storage scale will stimulate the consumption growth of related chemical products.
Under the development trend of chemical energy storage, important and highly concerned chemicals include lithium batteries and related products, such as lithium carbonate, lithium hexafluorophosphate, dimethyl carbonate, ethyl carbonate, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene film, etc. NMP, PVP, lithium difluorosulfonymide, etc.
The essence of China’s “dual carbon” lies in the transformation of the energy structure, which will also bring “pain” in the future of the transformation of traditional energy and new energy. New energy will continue to develop rapidly, and the growth rate of traditional energy will continue to slow down. Under this trend, driven by the new energy consumption market, to promote the new energy consumption market.
